Do You Struggle Flossing When You Have Braces? Here Are Some Tips to Make It Easier

Posted .

If you want a top-notch smile and a convenient orthodontic journey, then you need to floss your teeth at least once a day. If you can, floss more, like after every meal. Flossing is very important for your oral health. Unfortunately, flossing when you have braces can be quite difficult for many people. If you’re one who has a hard time flossing, our orthodontist has some tips that can help make flossing a bit easier. Those tips are:

-Use a floss threader: A floss threader is a handy, disposable tool that has a loop on one end. To use it, thread the floss through the loop, thread the looped tool under your braces wire while holding one end of the floss, and pull the tool away so the floss falls from the loop. At this point, the floss is at the perfect position to clean between your chompers.

-Use a water flosser: A water flosser is a handy flossing tool that cleans your smile and braces with water. It is a wand and water reservoir that has pressure levels that meet your needs and likes. When you push the tip against the crevice between your teeth and spray, the crack can be cleaned of plaque, bacteria, and food particles.

-Use waxed floss: Waxed floss is a great product when working in small spaces and tightly knit teeth. It’s best to use this floss so you can have a convenient flossing experience.
